Shri Mukthi Naga Kshetra

Shri Mukthi Naga Kshetra has long been home to the Serpent Deity. For the past 200 years, the residents of this region have been referring to this place as “Junjappana Bayalu” (Junjappa’s Field). In accordance with Lord Subrahmanya’s divine will, the construction of the Mukthi Naga Temple is being carried out at this place. This place, which is a veritable abode of serpents, is a heaven of peace and serenity to all who come here. Temple is situated at Ramohalli, 18 kilometers from the Bangalore bus stand. It is located 5 kilometers from the Bangalore-Mysore road, after one passes Kengeri, on the way to the Big Banyan Tree. One kilometer from the Ramohalli bus stand is the place where the place where Mukthi Naga Temple is present.

Nagaprathishte Pooja

Naga Pratisthapana is done at dedicated temples. 'Pratisthapana' is -providing an abode. Hence, Naga Pratisthapana is a procedure which should be performed on a particular day, under the guidance of Vedic pundits. The process involves consecration of a serpent image carved in stone at a holy place by making offerings. Legends mention the entire Indian sub-continent as the 'Naga Kshetra'.

Sarpa Samskara

Sarpa Samskara is performed to remove the Sarpa Dosha perceived in Janmakundali. Sarpa Samskara is believed to be potent and help appease the Nagas and nullify the negative effects of killing a snake, either in previous births or in the present birth and lead life in bliss. Lord Subrahmanya is believed to have protected Vasuki, the king of snakes from Garuda.

Aslesha Bali Pooja

Ashlesha Bali is a special puja performed for relief from Sarpa Dosha, Naga Dosha, Kuja Dosha and Kala Sarpa Dosha. It ensures relief from ill-health, problems in married life, to beget children, delay in every action and many such difficulties. Lord Subrahmanya is believed to be capable of absolving people suffering from ‘Kujadosha’ and ‘Kalasarpadosha’.
